
CHRISTMAS AWARDS SENT TO RESCUERS
In December 2025, the JFR sent each JFR-supported rescuer $6,000. This amount included a special Christmas gift of $4,000 for the purchase of food, home heating fuel, and medications. The remaining $2,000 is for the rescuer’s regular award for September through December 2025. This is the largest individual Christmas gift the JFR has sent to rescuers. JFR 2026 ADVANCED SEMINAR
We are looking forward to welcoming 24 Alfred Lerner Fellows to the 2026 Advanced Seminar to be held January 17-18, 2026. The focus of this year’s program is “Challenges in Teaching the Holocaust.” The following scholars will be presenting Avinoam Patt, Andy Pearce, Paul Salmons, and Noah Shenker.
We are going to start planning the 2027 Advanced Seminar shortly. If you would like to have a specific topic addressed or to hear from a particular scholar, please let Stanlee know at sstahl@jfr.org.


2026 EUROPEAN STUDY PROGRAM TO POLAND
The JFR’s 2026 European Study Program will go to Poland in July. Professor Robert Jan van Pelt is our scholar for the European Study Program. The dates of the study program are July 5 – 15, 2026. The study program starts in Warsaw, we then travel to Lodz, Oswiecim, where we will spend three nights, and we leave from Krakow. Applications are being accepted for The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous (JFR) 2026 European Study Program to Poland. JFR 2026 SUMMER INSTITUTE FOR TEACHERS
The dates of the 2026 Summer Institute for Teachers (SIT) are June 20 – 24, 2026. The Summer Institute will be held at the Hilton Newark Airport. Application information for the SIT will be emailed to JFR center directors and directors of education in January.

We have received a number of calls from folks who are unable to find the JFR on Charity Navigator – we are there with a 4-star rating! You can find us under Jewish and not “The.” Should you be interested, here is a link to our page on Charity Navigator.

CFC
The JFR is part of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) - the Federal government’s workplace charity campaign and covers all civilian, postal, and military employees. The CFC’s campaign season has been extended to January 30, 2026. If you know of someone who works for the Federal government, the U.S. military, or the U.S. Postal Service, please ask them to consider selecting the JFR as the recipient of their gift.
