The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous provides financial support to more than 900 non-Jews who rescued Jews during the Holocaust and preserves their legacy through a national education program.
REUNION FILMS Every year, the JFR reunites one of the rescuers with the survivors he or she saved and honors the rescuer at its New York Dinner. The reunion is a moving and memorable experience, for those involved and for those in the audience at the dinner. It is often the case that the rescuer and survivors haven't seen each other for decades – sometimes not since the end of the war. In the months leading up to the reunion, the JFR visits with the rescuer and the survivors and creates a short documentary for the dinner that tells their story.
In December 2009, the JFR reunited Bronislaw Firuta with Joseph Bonder. Their reunion was the subject of feature stories in most of the New York press. Joseph had not seen Bronislaw since 1945. Read more about the rescue story of Bronislaw and Joseph.
