The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous provides financial support to more than 900 non-Jews who rescued Jews during the Holocaust and preserves their legacy through a national education program.

JFR Programs and Events

The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous holds programs and events throughout the year to pay tribute to and preserve the legacy of the precious few non-Jews who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust.


JFR Annual Dinner 
Each year, the JFR holds an annual dinner where we honor two righteous people – a rescuer who risked his or her life to save Jews during the Holocaust and an exceptional person who demonstrates goodness in contemporary times. Please mark your calendar – Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Waldorf=Astoria in New York City.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah
Program

The JFR has a special program for young people as they become a Bar/Bat Mitzvah that enables students to fulfill the mitzvah of tzedakah or charity and learn more about extraordinary individuals  Righteous Gentiles  who risked their lives to save Jews.

YOUNG ASSOCIATES DIVISION (YAD)

The Young Associates Division (YAD) engages young adults to promote support the work of The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous. Under the leadership of Jason Schulweis and his energetic board, the YAD group hosts events throughout the year.

SPEAKERS BUREAU

For anyone interested in hosting an outstanding speaker to lecture on Holocaust-related subjects, the JFR offers a Speakers Bureau. Participants include leading Holocaust scholars, survivors, rescuers, and JFR staff members. Speakers are available for community organizations, interfaith groups, synagogues, churches, and schools
sponsoring programs on the Holocaust.

JFR Traveling Exhibit on Rescuers
The JFR is pleased to present the traveling exhibit Whoever Saves a Single Life…Rescuers of Jews During the Holocaust. This exhibit consists of eight panels on four freestanding structures.  Each panel narrates stories of rescue during the Holocaust, punctuated by striking images and portraits of the rescuers and survivors.  This traveling exhibit is available for rental and display.  Here you can access more information about the exhibit, including application materials.Go



Seminars and Institutes

The JFR sponsors a range of education programs that bring together world-class Holocaust scholars, survivors, and rescuers with middle and high school teachers.  The JFR education program studies the Holocaust in general and rescue in particular. JFR institutes and seminars range in length from one day to two weeks.

Hagaddah Supplement
Each year the JFR produces a Hagaddah Supplement for use at Seder.  The Haggadah Supplement tells the story of one specific rescuer.  The 2010 Haggadah Supplement features the story of Dervis and Servet Korkut from Sarajevo, Croatia (now Bosnia).
